Before the fabled Trojan War, the hero Jason set out with his Argonauts to claim his inheritance by obtaining the fabled Golden Fleece.
His girlfriend Medea, an accomplished sorceress of witchcraft and potions— said to be granddaughter of the sun god Helios,— offered to help. But there was a catch: she’'d help but only if he’'d marry her upon his return. After many trials and tribulations (with the help of Medea) Jason was successful and upon his return to Corinth, they had five sons and a daughter. But, this is a Greek drama and after a decade Jason was attracted by a younger woman, the princess of King Cron. In anger, Medea poisoned both of them.
She then (after losing two children to violence) fled. It is said that Medea magically escaped to the Iranian Plateau aboard her “flying chariot” where she lived out her days among the Aryan people.
